Thanksgiving is the busiest travel time of the year, and going to the airport can be like warfare. So how can you outsmart all the other travelers pushing through to get to the front of the crowds? One easy thing to do is to flip the script on arrivals and departures to beat those crowds. When you arrive at the airport, park or make sure you are dropped off at the arrivals level to avoid the crush of humanity. This is an especially great tip if you are leaving in the morning because nobody will be around on arrivals. This way you can slip into the airport without dealing with crowds and just take an escelator to the departures level. Believe me, this will save you sometime before you get in line with the rest of the herd. And when you arrive in your destination city, have your family or friends pick you up at the departures gate... there will be less people trying on departures than arrivals when you get in, especially if you arrive later in the evening. Just switching up the arrivals and destinations procedure can save you a lot of time, which you can spend laughing at the rest of the crowds struggling to get by eachother.
