The popular haunt started with a group of friends creating a haunted house in their backyard with just a few props and has grown into a giant annual operation that features high tech special effects, robotics, animation, and live interaction. The Pirate themed haunt is split into three main attractions: the main haunt, which is made up of a incredibly detailed pirate ship and pirate village, "Pirates of the Deep 3D," which allows visitors to take a tour of "Davy Jones' locker" with 3D glasses, and the “Bilge Rat Maze,” which features pulsing strobe lights that add to the creepy atmosphere. All of the attractions are a blast, but the main haunt is what makes “Pirates of Emerson” worth a visit. With its immersive story that takes you from the bowels of a pirate ship through a working village of undead pirates, creepy atmospherics, and just plain terrifying scares, this is one of the best put together haunts around. And unlike most of the competition, “Pirates of Emerson” really makes you feel like you are interacting with the story, as you open the doors to different rooms, revealing untold horrors. So if you want to experience one of the scariest haunts in California, head up North to Fremont for the "Pirates of Emerson Haunted Adventure." You'll spend the night screaming in terror, but that's kind of the point, right? I'm Liesel Hlista for TravelWishTV.com. Keep watching for more spooky Halloween travel tips.
