But the most impressive American Jesus statue is probably The Christ of the Ozarks, in Eureka Springs, Arkansas. The behemoth, seven story, two million pound Christ is described as the “world's tallest Uncrucified Jesus,” and he stands vigil outside of a giant amphitheater, where a four hour nightly Passion Play pays tribute to the big J. The statue was completed in 1966, and according to the Church's “Story of the Building of the Great Statue,” each wrist can support the weight of up to three cars without any damage.
